What the handle and SKU generator does

Paste a list of product titles, or choose a CSV file and pick its title column, and the generator creates a Shopify URL handle and a SKU for every product. Copy the results or download them as a CSV with Title, Handle and SKU columns, ready to paste into your import file.

Everything runs in your browser. Your titles and files are never uploaded to Findora's server.

How handles are made

A Shopify handle is the part of a product's address after /products/, such as blue-cotton-shirt. The generator uses the same rule as Findora's Shopify import files: lowercase letters and numbers, hyphens instead of spaces and symbols, and accents removed (Café Crème becomes cafe-creme). Two products can't share a handle, so duplicates get -2, -3 and so on.

How SKUs are made

SKUs follow a pattern you choose: a prefix such as your brand's initials, a few letters from the title, and a running number with leading zeros, joined by a hyphen, an underscore or nothing. For example, FND-BCS-0001 for a Blue Cotton Shirt. The letters come from the first letter of each word, then more letters from the first word if needed. Every SKU in the list is unique; the preview shows the result before you copy or download it.

How to use it

Paste titles one per line, or choose a CSV (Shopify, WooCommerce or any spreadsheet saved as CSV) and select the column that holds the titles. Adjust the SKU pattern and check the preview. If your products already have SKUs in your store, start the running number after your highest one so new SKUs never clash.

Why it matters

Clean, unique handles make tidy product addresses and avoid import errors, and consistent SKUs make orders, stock and supplier lists easier to match. Generating them in one go saves the slow, error-prone work of typing them by hand.

Frequently asked questions

Are my titles uploaded anywhere?

No. The generator runs in your browser and nothing you paste or choose is sent to Findora's server. Your activity history only records how many titles were processed.

What happens with duplicate titles?

Handles must be unique in Shopify, so the second gets -2, the third -3, and so on. SKUs are always unique because they include a running number.

Can I use these for WooCommerce?

Yes. The SKUs work on any platform. WooCommerce calls the handle a slug and creates its own from the name, but you can use the generated handle as the slug.

How many titles can I process?

Up to 5,000 at a time, from pasted text or a CSV of up to 20 MB.

Does it use credits?

No. You need to be signed in to see and download the results, but the generator never uses credits.
