What the GIF to PNG converter does

Convert GIF images to PNG in bulk: add up to 50 files, check the before and after file sizes, and download each image or all of them as a ZIP. It's part of Findora's Product Image Toolkit, so you can also resize, compress, crop, rename, rotate, watermark or remove metadata without switching tools.

Everything runs in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to Findora's server.

About GIF files

GIF is an old format best known for short animations. It can only show 256 colours, so photos saved as GIF look grainy and the files are large. The converter uses the first frame of an animated GIF.

If you only need a still image of a product from an animated GIF, converting it gives you a smaller, sharper file that every platform accepts.

Why convert to PNG

Choose PNG when you need a transparent background (a product on no background, a logo for a watermark), when you want to edit the image again without losing quality, or for graphics with text and sharp edges, which JPG can blur.

Tips for PNG images on your store

Use PNG for logos, icons, graphics with text, and cut-out products on transparent backgrounds. For ordinary product photos on your store, JPG or WebP will load faster; if a PNG photo is large, the Compress mode can save it as WebP while keeping transparency.

How to use it

Choose or drop your GIF files. The list shows each file's new size and dimensions as soon as it's ready. Download one file, or everything at once.

Bulk conversion, done properly

Supplier catalogues, photo shoots and website downloads rarely arrive one image at a time. Add a whole folder, up to 50 files, and the converter works through them one by one so your phone or laptop stays responsive. A file that can't be read is listed with the reason instead of stopping the batch. New file names are cleaned up automatically (lowercase, hyphens instead of spaces), which also makes them safe to use in web addresses.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and your images never leave your device. Your activity history only records how many images were processed.

What happens to animated GIFs?

The first frame is used, as a still image.

Is transparency kept?

Yes. PNG keeps the GIF's transparent parts.

How many images can I convert at once?

Up to 50 images at a time, each up to 40 MB. Download them one by one or all together as a ZIP file.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Choose photos from your gallery or files, and download the results straight to your phone. Very large photos are made a little smaller if a phone browser can't handle their full size; the results list tells you when that happens.

Does it use credits?

No. You need to be signed in to see and download the results, but the image toolkit is free and unlimited and never uses credits.
